The Mercury Station Wagon was a passenger car manufactured by Mercury , a brand of Ford Motor Company , from 1957 to 1958, 1961, and 1964 to 1968 . These were the brand's station wagons . In the model years 1959 and 1960 the Mercury station wagons were called Country Cruiser , in the years before 1957, 1962 to 1963 and after 1968 they were assigned to the respective sedan model series.

The station wagons, which in the 1956 model year still ran under the names of the individual sedan series, were combined in 1957 to form a separate series under the name Station Wagon .

There were three different versions: The Commuter and the slightly better equipped Voyager were based on the Monterey model and had V8 engines with a displacement of 5,112 cm³ that ran at 4,600 rpm. 255 bhp (188 kW) deliveries. These models were available as three- and five-door models. Above this was the top model Colony Park , which was developed from the Turnpike Cruiser sedan. The engine of this model had a displacement of 6,030 cc and developed 290 bhp (213 kW) at 4,600 rpm. The Colony Park had side trim parts made of imitation wood and was only available as a five-door.

A total of 35,792 station wagons were built this year.

In 1958 the Commuter and Voyager were based on Monterey , Colony Park on Montclair . All station wagons had engines with a capacity of 6,276 cm³. The two weaker models had 312 bhp (229 kW), while the top model had 330 bhp (243 kW).

In 1958, 22,302 station wagons were built. In the two following years, the station wagons of the brand were called Country Cruiser .

In 1961 the country cruiser models were again called the Station Wagon and there were only two five-door versions: the Commuter was based on the Meteor , the Colony Park on Monterey . The Commuter had a six-cylinder in-line engine with a displacement of 3,654 cm³, which delivered 135 bhp (99 kW). The top model still had a V8 engine, but with only 4,785 cm³ and 175 bhp (129 kW). The station wagon of the entry-level Comet was assigned to this model series.

In 1961 16,838 station wagons were built. In the following year, all station wagons of the brand were assigned to the respective sedan model series.

In 1964 there was again a separate station wagon series. As in 1961, there was a base model Commuter and a top model Colony Park (with imitation wood on the sides of the vehicle). Both cars were based on the Monterey and had V8 engines with 6,391 cm³ displacement and 250 bhp (184 kW). The five-door cars were available with either 6 or 9 seats, with the third bench facing the direction of travel in the latter case. The station wagon of the entry-level Comet was in turn assigned to this model series.

There were no changes in 1965. In 1966 the engine output rose to 265 bhp (195 kW), in 1967 to 270 bhp (199 kW). In 1968 this engine power remained.

In these five years, 120,742 station wagons were built. From 1969, the station wagons were reassigned to the corresponding sedan series.
