Shenese for beginners is the debut album by the rapper She MC . It was published in early 2010. The word “Shenese” is a play on words from “Chinese” and the artist's artist name.
Emergence
She MC had already started her rap career in 2003. In the following years she recorded a few demos. The fact that she initially belonged to two rap groups, one after the other, and the fact that she “personally handed” her music to people , contributed to the fact that the album was released very late. In addition, she had found that such a development could only come about gradually.
“I just had fun in between. I lived the hip-hop thing and recorded demo tracks. I handed that into the hands of people personally - just old school. I also did jams a lot. Recordings
The recordings took place in the Frequency Freedom Studio in Cologne and in the True Business Studio in Bad Oeynhausen . Sven Ludwig, who also works under the stage name Faltmeister , was responsible for the production and mixing of the album . Sascha Buehren was responsible for the mastering. Musical guests are Avista, Trip Tom, Maxim Noise and Cheri Kedida.
style
The album is largely assigned to the hip-hop style, but this is by no means dogmatically adhered to. In the case of several pieces, the beats are rather untypical for the genre.
