Shiba Zenko
Shiba Zenkō ( Japanese 芝 全 交 , real name: Yamamoto Tōjūrō ( 山 本 藤 十郎 ); * 1750 in Edo ; † 1793 ) was a Japanese writer and actor .
Shiba came from a merchant family. He was an actor in the Kyōgen troupe of Yamamoto Tōshichi , where he appeared under the name Yamamoto Tōjūrō . Since the beginning of An'ei - era (ie by 1772) he began Kibyōshi post. In addition to Koikawa Harumachi , Santō Kyōden and Hōseidō Kisanji , he is considered a master of the genre. Shikitai Sanba counts in his writing Kusazōshi kojitsuke nendaiki his book Daihi no senrokuhon (with illustrations by Kitao Masanubo ) among the twenty-three classics of Kibyōshi, along with five other works.
