Shijian-8

Shijian-8 is a Chinese space mission with a return capsule based on the FSW spy satellite. It is used to research the breeding of seeds for agriculture.

The satellite was launched on 9. September 2006 with a Long March 2C - carrier rocket from the Jiuquan spaceport and ended after 15 days in space on 24 September 2006. The satellite's payload consisted of over 2,000 individual seeds in nine categories and 180 groups are divided. Among other things, grain seeds, fodder plants and fungal spores were on board.
