Shimamura Toshimasa
Shimamura Toshimasa ( Japanese 島村 利 正 ; born March 25, 1912 in Nagano Prefecture , † November 25, 1981 ) was a Japanese writer.
His first novel Kōrainin ( 高麗 人 ) was published 1940-41 in sequels in the magazine Bungakusha . He tried his hand at entrepreneurship in the 1950s, but his company went bankrupt after seven years. As an author, he has been nominated several times for the Akutagawa Prize . He received the 1976 Hirabayashi Taiko Literature Prize in the Literature category for Aoi Numa ( 青 い 沼 , "The Blue Swamp") and in 1979 the Yomiuri Literature Prize for Myōkō no aki ( 妙 高 の 秋 ).
