Shinkokin-wakashu

Shinkokin-Wakashū ( Jap. 新古今和歌集 also: 新古今集 Shin Kokinshu , or Shin Kokin dt about. New collection of ancient and modern poems ) is a Waka - anthology from the late Heian period of Japan .

It was compiled in 1205 on the occasion of the 300th anniversary of the appearance of the Kokin-wakashū anthology. The anthology was compiled on the orders of the already replaced Tennō Go-Toba (1180-1239) by Fujiwara no Teika , Fujiwara no Ariie (Kujō Ariie), Fujiwara no Ietaka , Jakuren , Minamoto no Michitomo and Asukai Masatsune . It comprises 10 rolls with around 2,000 waka.
