Shipyard Island is an island in the Yukon River . This is about 500 m below the former Woodyard Hootalinqua and is a popular stopping point for river walkers. To the right of the island is the wreck of the paddle steamer Evelyn . Numerous relics from the time of the Klondike gold rush are scattered around the small island.
When the tide is low , a long gravel bank appears on the back of the island . This offers an alternative to the Hootalinqua campsite.
