Shuffle Chess

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Shuffle Chess is a forerunner of the Chess960 chess variant, also known as Fischer Random Chess.

The difference to Fischer-Random-Chess is that there are no rules about how the king and the rook have to be positioned for castling . There are different forms of Shuffle Chess. So the king can come to stand in a corner, or the bishops on one side can both stand on the same square color. Castling is only possible in this type of game if the king and at least one of the two rooks are assigned the same squares as in traditional chess (e1 and e8 for the king and a1 and a8 and / or h1 and h8 for one of the rooks) .
