Shutterfly, Inc. is a US photo service provider based in Redwood City , California . The listed company produces photo books that customers can put together from digital photos. In addition to this main product, Shutterfly also supplies calendars, greeting cards and posters. High-priced equipment for photography is lent out through the subsidiary BorrowLenses. In 2012, the Eastman Kodak Company sold its online photo service Kodak Gallery to Shutterfly. The Kodak Gallery was then closed and Shutterfly took over the former Kodak customers.

Shutterfly was founded in 1999 and from the beginning offered the printing of digital photographs transmitted over the Internet. Since going public in 2006, Shutterfly's shares have been traded on NASDAQ . In 2012, 80% of customers were female.

At the end of January 2018, the photo service provider bought the photo company Lifetouch for 825 million US dollars.

At the end of June 2019, the American investment company Apollo Global announced that it would buy Shutterfly for 2.7 billion US dollars.
