The Siam Commercial Bank Public Company Limited (short: SCB ; Thai ธนาคาร ไทย พาณิชย์ , RTGS Thanakan Thai Phanit , "Thai Commercial Bank") is the oldest commercial bank in Thailand and one of the largest credit institutions in the country. It was founded in 1906 at the instigation of Prince Mahisara Rajaharudaya (Thai: พระองค์เจ้า ไช ยัน ต มงคล กรม หมื่น มหิศร ราช หฤทัย - Phra-ongchao Chaiyantamongkhon Krommamuen Mahison Ratchaharuethai ) in Thailand with the permission of his brother, King Chulalongkorn (Rama V.) .

General

It is the second largest bank in Thailand, the largest by market capitalization. Its branch network is also the largest in Thailand with more than 1,019 branches and 8,006 ATMs (as of December 31, 2010).

The largest shareholder is the Thai King Maha Vajiralongkorn with 23.53% (as of March 2020).

The Chairman of the Board of Directors is Vichit Suraphongchai . Arthid Nanthawithaya is the chief executive officer (CEO, chairman of the Executive Committee) .
