Sibylle (ship name)

Sibylle (named after the prophetess Sibylle ) is the name of two submarines of the French Navy :

  • Sibylle (1934): was a Diane- class submarine in World War II . The boat entered service in 1934 and has been missing since November 1942.
  • Sibylle (1951): The Sibylle (ex HMS Sportsman ) was a British S-class submarine . The French Navy took it over in 1951. The Sibylle sank in an accident in 1952.
