The Schulze-Delitzsch-Strasse settlement is a settlement in Dresden - Tolkewitz that was built from 1927 . The architect was Carl Otto Reinhardt .

History and description

The settlement, which was built in two stages from 1927 onwards by the housing cooperative for craft, trade and commerce in Dresden and the surrounding area, is an example of expressionist influences in settlement construction. There are “expressionist forms and motifs” such as gold balls, serrated systems or pointed arches.

The three-storey buildings are vertically structured by projecting, risalit-like staircases. The corners of the stair tower houses are acute-angled and bevelled like jagged edges. Vertical ribbon windows run over several floors and give the stairwell the light it needs. Golden balls crown the stair tower houses. There are pointed arches at the gateways at the entrance to the settlement.

Some of the buildings were destroyed in the air raids on Dresden in 1945. The reconstruction took place until 1957.
