The Siegfried Glacier is a glacier on Rothschild Island off the northwest coast of the Antarctic Alexander I Island . It flows in an east-southeast direction to Lasarev Bay , which it reaches south of Mirnyy Peak .
The UK Antarctic Place-Names Committee named it in 1980 based on the naming of the Wagner-Piedmont-Glacier after the opera Siegfried from the cycle Der Ring des Nibelungen by the German composer Richard Wagner from 1876.
