Siegfried Sqirrel ( English. The Secret Squirrel Show ) is an animated series by William Hanna and Joseph Barbera , which was first broadcast in the United States in 1965.

content

The main character is a squirrel who works as a secret agent 000. She wears a trench coat and a hat that hangs so low on her face that she can only see through two eye holes. Trademarks are the gadgets designed after the Bond films, but exaggerated, and the villain against whom the squirrel has to compete. He also has a companion by the name of Morocco Mole , a mole with fez . The two of them receive their orders from their boss, QQ .

Production and publication

The series was produced from 1965 by the Hanna Barbera Studios under the direction of Joseph Barbera and William Hanna. The music was composed by Ted Nichols. Secret Squirrel was first broadcast in the US in 1965 as part of The Atom Ant / Secret Squirrel Show by NBC. The broadcast consisted of half-hour episodes, which were divided into different segments. In 1966 the Secret Squirrel got its own series, in which, in addition to stories about the namesake, films with " side stars " like Squiddly Diddly were shown. In 1967 the broadcast was stopped after 39 episodes.

1993 further consequences were Secret Squirrel and Morocco Mole produced in the framework of the program 2 Stupid Dogs were broadcast on TBS. This new edition, titled Super-Secret Secret Squirrel , reached 13 episodes.

The series has been translated into French, Portuguese, Italian and Spanish, among others. The German version was first broadcast by ZDF in 1974 under the title Siegfried Squirrel .

The German title was not Siegfried Sqirrel, but "Secret Eichkater in Mission".
