Siegmund Astner

Siegmund Astner (born October 27, 1954 ) is an Austrian politician ( SPÖ ). Astner was a member of the Carinthian state parliament from 2009 to 2013 .

After primary and secondary school, Astner completed an apprenticeship as an agricultural machinery mechanic and worked for the Raiffeisen company between 1970 and 1976. He then moved to Rosner as a sewing machine mechanic from 1976 to 1980 and was then a contract employee of the town of Hermagor between 1980 and 1990 . Astner has been the federal manager of the SPÖ farmers since 1990.

Astner was elected district chairman of the SPÖ-Hermagor on September 19, 2007, where he prevailed in a fight vote with 68.6%. On March 31, 2009, he was sworn in as a member of the state parliament in Carinthia.

Astner is married and has a daughter and a son. He lives in Tröpolach, Hermagor-Pressegger See municipality .
