Sielhaut

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Sielhaut is a biofilm that arises in the inner surfaces of drainage systems (e.g. sewers ). Sielhaut mainly consists of dead and living biomass as well as inorganic components.

The sewer skin analysis can be used to determine the discharge of pollutants into the sewage system . For this purpose, samples of the sewer skin are taken and examined at various points. Residues of substances present in the wastewater can be detected in samples of the sewer skin. Directly below the discharge point, the concentration of the substance in question is highest in a comparison of the various samples.
