Virgilio Ranzato

Virgilio Ranzato (born May 7, 1883 in Venice , † April 20, 1937 in Como ) was an Italian composer .

Virgilio Ranzato initially embarked on a career as a violinist at the Conservatories of Venice and Milan , later he also studied composition. At first he worked primarily as a chamber musician and conductor . From around 1910 he devoted himself mainly to composing and wrote an opera (Campane di guerra , 1933 Milan) almost exclusively operettas , two of which became extremely famous and whose songs are still hits in Italy today.
