The Siemens Arena , a multifunctional hall in the Lithuanian capital Vilnius . With up to 12,500 seats, depending on the event, it is currently one of the largest and most modern event halls in the Baltic States .

history

The Siemens Arena was built by the Lithuanian energy company Rubicon Group (President Andrius Janukonis ). The German conglomerate Siemens acquired the naming rights . The festive opening took place on October 30, 2004.

use

The arena is the new venue for the BC Lietuvos Rytas basketball club . In addition to sport, other events such as B. Concerts , shows and meetings take place.

On October 12, 2009, the Russian ice hockey clubs Ak Bars Kazan and SKA Saint Petersburg met in the Siemens Arena in a game of the Continental Hockey League . The Siemens Arena was also the venue for Division I of the 2009 Ice Hockey World Championship .

In 2011 the hall was one of six Lithuanian venues for the men's European basketball championship .
