history
In 1936, Heinz Siemes opened the first specialist shoe store in his hometown of Mönchengladbach. Over the years, additional branches were opened in Mönchengladbach and Rheydt . In 1967 Schuhhaus Siemes OHG was registered . In 1970 Heinz-Willi Siemes took over the management. The legal form changed to the limited partnership . With the opening of the first Leone branch - the luxury brand of the Siemes Group - in Mönchengladbach, Siemes established itself in the high-priced shoe segment in 1978. Another specialist trade concept was launched in 1984 with the Siemes shoe center . This concept is now one of the sales channels with the largest number of branches. Siemes expanded nationwide. In 1994 the legal form changed to Schuhhaus Siemes GmbH & Co KG . In 1999 the final merger with Siemes Schuhcenter GmbH & Co KG took place .
In 1995, Siemes was represented with 44 branches throughout Germany, by 2013 the number had increased to 150 branches. In 2010, Siemes was one of the largest shoe retailers in Germany.
The Siemes Group has had an online shop since 2010. In addition to shoes and bags, accessories are also offered.
