The Siemsen-Speicher is a listed former storage building at Eckernförde Harbor.

history

The building was supposedly built around 1870 as a salt storage facility. The ECKernförde Lexicon dates the year of construction to 1879. In 1919 the Wilhelm Siemsen company acquired the storage building from the Heinrich Wilhelm Clausen company . The building then served as a granary. The goods were handled directly in front of the storage facility with ships and freight wagons of the normal and narrow gauge Eckernförde port railway .

Today the building on the ground floor is used as a Spieker store and event location (music, cabaret, cabaret, readings), and on the upper floors as an office building. The Kulturbühne Spieker eV Eckern-Förder-Verein ensures that it is maintained as an event location.
