Sigit Budiarto

Sigit Budiarto (born November 24, 1975 in Yogyakarta ) is a former Indonesian badminton player . He was one of the dominant doubles players of the 1990s and 2000s.

As a men's doubles specialist, he won numerous international titles between 1995 and 2005, most of them together with Candra Wijaya . He was a member of the victorious Indonesian Thomas Cup team in 1998 , 2000 and 2002 . In 1997 he became world champion.

He also won the 2004 Asian Championship with Tri Kusharyanto , the French Open 1995 , the Indonesia Open 1997, 2000 and 2001, the Malaysia Open 2001 and 2005, the China 2004 and 2005, the Japan 2001 and the Singapore Open 1997, 1998, 2005 and 2006.

In 1998 he got a two-year doping ban for taking the anabolic steroid nandrolone .
