Conductive silver adhesive

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Conductive silver adhesives are used to make electrical connections . These are metal- filled (approx. 70–80%) adhesives based on epoxy resin , which are cured in a temperature range between 150 ° C and 180 ° C. The electrical conductivity is due to the fact that the statistical distribution of the silver - flakes in the organic matrix forming conductive paths. The connection between the joining partners is established by the adhesion of the epoxy adhesive.

use

Conductive silver adhesive is used wherever the disadvantages of soft soldering are critical to the application. Compared to soft soldering, there are no signs of migration in conductive silver adhesives (formation of cracks / defects through diffusion). The problems with this connection technique come more from the "normal" adhesive technique. Surface contamination, corrosion and mismatch of the thermal expansion coefficients of the materials used (Engl. Coefficient of thermal expansion (CTE) mismatch ) can delaminations lead.
