Sildajazz is a Jazz - Festival in at the Norwegian lying west coast of Haugesund . It takes place every year in mid-August. The name of the festival comes from Haugesund's origins as a trading point for fishermen in the mid-19th century ( “Sild” is the Norwegian word for herring).

The festival took place for the first time in 1987 with four bands. Around 350 artists now take part in around 70 bands and orchestras each year and play around 180 concerts during the five-day festival. More than 50,000 spectators attended the 21st Festival in 2007.

In addition to the film festival in Haugesund, Sidajazz is a tourist highlight and economic factor for Haugesund.
