SilverStripe is a PHP and MySQL- based CMS and free model-view-controller framework from the New Zealand company of the same name, which was founded in 2000 by Tim Copland, Sigurd Magnusson and Sam Minnée development studio in Wellington.

In addition to the basic functionality of a content management system, SilverStripe also provides an integrated model-view-controller framework ( sapphire ), which is intended to greatly simplify the development of extensions. history

SilverStripe was sold commercially before version 2.0 and has been available as free software under the BSD license since February 2007 . The current version is 4.5.0.

SilverStripe was able to gain awareness and quality in particular through the Google Summer of Code organized annually by Google . This development work is currently being continued in the Google Highly Open Participation ( GHOP ) contest .

In March 2009, SilverStripe was included in Microsoft 's Web Platform Installer (WebPI) as one of ten PHP and .NET applications for a simplified WAMP installation .

Version 3.0 came out in 2012. out (a complete overhaul of the framework and the CMS).

Version 4.0 has been available since December 2017, its CMS interface is now based on Bootstrap 4 and ReactJS and uses TinyMCE 4.0.x
