Silvia Cohen

Silvia Cohen (born April 24, 1959 in Paris ) is an Italian actress .

Life

Cohen, of Jewish descent, was born in France, but had lived in Italy since early youth, where she graduated from the Accademia dei Filodrammatici in Milan after completing school. She later also took citizenship there. At the age of 18, she made her stage debut in Bertolt Brecht 's Die Horatier and the Curatier . The 1.75 m tall, “attractive actress with determined and melancholy eyes” found the opportunity to take advantage of offers in the cinema and on screen from 1983 (after further successes in Brecht and Feydeau plays). However, it took years and a great theatrical success (1990 in Angelo Longoni's production of Money ) for young directors to recognize and call upon their potential. She was the coprotagonist in Sandro Baldonis Strane storie (1994) and Consigli per gli acquisti (1997), for which she was also nominated for an award and won a Ciak d'oro . Cohen found greater public success with many television films, series and other formats ( Donna Mattina , Piccole case editrici , Star bene a tavola , Gli ecosistemi ). Occasionally she also took up offers in France. Even in the new millennium, Cohen was steadily, but not excessively, busy.
