Sim (computer game)

Sims were the simulated inhabitants of the 1989 computer game SimCity called. The term was also retained in other Maxis games , such as SimTown , Sim Tower , SimIsle or the successor versions of the original SimCity ( SimCity 2000 , SimCity 3000 , SimCity 4 and SimCity (2013) ).

In 2000 The Sims appeared , now the best-selling computer game. While SimCity and Sim Town were about building the infrastructure to get Sims to settle, The Sims was the first to control the Sim characters yourself. 2004 by Maxis then The Sims Successors The Sims 2 released. Now the game received a 3D graphics engine for the first time and also displayed the Sims accordingly. The Sims 3 appeared in 2009 . Meanwhile, the fourth sequel The Sims 4 was released on September 4, 2014.

Maxis computer games that do not contain any Sims were also given a name with the prefix Sim , such as SimEarth , SimGolf or SimAnt .
