The Sims 4 is a life simulation from the Maxis developer studio The Sims Studio. The video game is published by Electronic Arts . It is the regular fourth part of the The Sims series and the successor to The Sims 3 . The video game is in Europe on September 4, 2014 Windows and on 17 February 2015, OS X appeared. The game continues to use a single player mode that can be played offline, but has optional online components. A permanent internet connection is not required. Since launch, reviews of the game and its features have been mixed.

Innovations

In The Sims 4, the main focus is on the characters' positive and negative emotions . These are now reflected in the Sims' facial expressions , gestures and available interactions. The emotions are influenced by the environment, experienced events, interactions with objects and exchanges with other Sims. The Sims always have an emotion and can also perform certain interactions or learn skills better through them .

The creative tools already known from the previous games have been revised in The Sims 4, especially in their usability. For example, almost all of the sliders in the Create-a-Sim mode have been removed. With the mouse, the player now directly selects the parts of the body that he can change through movement. A new system has been integrated in construction mode that automatically detects rooms. These rooms can be enlarged or reduced, rotated, moved and copied. Different wall heights are also new.

The artificial intelligence of the characters has been further developed in such a way that, above all, their path finding has been improved. The Sims are now multitasking and can perform up to three actions at the same time.

For the first time there is an integrated online gallery directly in the game, through which players can upload or download households, properties and rooms they have created themselves. An Origin account and an internet connection are required to use the gallery (except the library). The gallery has been on the Internet and as an app for iOS and Android since January 2015 .

Editions

The Sims 4 has been released in five different versions, all of which offer different content.

The standard version was released with the release of The Sims 4 in Europe on September 4, 2014 and only includes the base game.

The Sims 4 Limited Edition
