Sima Jian

Sima Jian ( Chinese  司馬 柬 , * 262 ; † 291 ) was a prince of the Chinese Jin dynasty . He was the third son of Emperor Wu and the younger brother of Crown Prince Sima Zhong , later Emperor Hui.

Sima Jian's father took power in 265. In 270 he made Sima Jian Prince of Ru'nan, around 276 Prince of Nanyang. In 289, shortly before his death, the Emperor made Sima Jian Prince of Qi. Sima Jian died shortly before the outbreak of the civil war over the succession in 291. He received the posthumous title of Prince Xian of Qin .
