Simon Gregson

Simon Gregson (born October 2, 1974 ) is a British actor best known for his role as Steve McDonald on the ITV soap opera Coronation Street .

life and career

Gregson was born Simon Allen Gregory in 1974 in Wythenshawe , England. His mother was a bank clerk and his father was a police officer. Gregson also has an older sister named Tracey.

In 1989, at the age of 14, he auditioned for the ITV soap opera Coronation Street and got the role of Steve McDonald. There Gregson was first mentioned under his real name, but later changed it to "Gregson" when he was old enough to join the actors' association "Equity" as there was already someone named Simon Gregory there. In 1991 he completed his GCSE and a short time later became addicted to cocaine . Granada Television then suspended him for 18 months. Gregson got over his addiction and returned to the Coronation Street set .

Gregson has been married to Emma Gleave since 2010. The couple has three children.
