Simon Posford (* 1971) is a British Goa and Psytrance musician who is successful solo under the pseudonym Hallucinogen and has also been involved in a variety of collaborations, including the Shpongle and Mystery of The Yeti projects (both together with Raja Ram ) , Celtic Cross (with Martin "Youth" Glover ), Younger Brother (with Benji Vaughan aka Prometheus ), Nomads of Dub .

Life

Posford grew up in Cobham in southern England. At the age of eight he and a musically gifted friend taught himself to play the piano. At school he was keyboard player in several bands, where he mostly helped out on other instruments. In the late 1980s he became interested in electronic music. In 1993 Posford first appeared under the pseudonym "Gumbo". Two years later he succeeded as a hallucinogen with "Twisted", a work that shaped the Goa scene and was also commercially successful.
