Simon from Tišnov

Simon von Tišnov (also Simon von Tischnow ; Czech Šimon z Tišnova ; * probably in Tišnov approx. 1370; † after 1428) was a supporter of the Hussites . As a master of the Charles University he held the post of rector in 1411 .

Life

Simon von Tišnov studied at Charles University in Prague, where he obtained a baccalaureate in 1395 and a master's degree in 1399. Ten years later he was elected dean and in 1411 rector.

He was a follower of the teachings of John Wyclif , whose treatise he defended in 1410, and the teachings of Jan Hus and Matěj z Knína .
