Simona Sabato

Simona Sabato (* 1964 ) is a German writer .

Life

Sabato studied "scenic writing" and art history and worked as a camerawoman.

Her first play “not in the mouth” was awarded the Jürgen Ponto Foundation's Drama Prize in 2001. The play was premiered at the Thalia Theater Hamburg .

In 2004 she won the Ernst Willner Prize in Klagenfurt at the 28th Days of German-Language Literature .

She writes plays and prose. She develops film projects together with Anja Hilling .

Her plays are represented by Suhrkamp Theaterverlag and some of them are published in the Spectaculum series.

She lives and writes in Berlin.
