Simulation data management

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Simulation data management is an approach to integrate the simulation and calculation data of a product into an existing product data management system (PDM) with computer support.

process

The communication processes between the simulation data management system and the CAE system, as well as the communication to another data management system within the PDM system, are defined. In order to increase the effectiveness of virtual product validation and to shorten product launch times, companies are currently striving to shorten the synchronization and integration of technical engineering processes and virtual product validation processes (simulation and calculation). The simulation data management is used for this.
Simulation data management is also becoming increasingly important in the field of numerical simulation for the functional design and safeguarding of dynamic systems (e.g. control units in vehicles). The cooperation of several people in the sense of collaborative engineering plays a central role. This includes, in particular, task-related access to simulation data, the structured use of simulation models and working in local development environments. Simulation data management supports approaches in the area of model-based systems engineering .
