Zinaida Reich ( Russian Зинаида Николаевна Райх ; born June 21 . Jul / 3. July  1894 greg. In Rostov-on-Don , Russian Empire ; †  15. July 1939 in Moscow , USSR ) was a Russian actress.

Life

Sinaida's father Nikolai Reich (formerly August Reich) was of Silesian-German origin and a train driver by profession; the mother, Anna Viktorowa, came from an impoverished noble family. Her father was a social democrat and a member of the RSDLP since 1898 . From 1917 to 1921 Sinaida Reich was married to the poet Sergei Jessenin , the father of their two children, and from 1922 to the director Vsevolod Meyerhold . In 1939, shortly after he was arrested, she was murdered in their shared apartment, probably by the NKVD .

Reich was buried in the Wagankowoer cemetery .
