The club was founded in 1920 under the name Football Club Beerschot , but changed the name to Voetbalvereniging Club Beerschot Sint-Niklaas that same year . In July 1922, the club officially registered with the Belgian Football Association under the name Sint-Niklase Sportkring . From 1926 the team took part in the official game operation and after the second division rise in 1943 managed to march through to the Eerste class in the second division season 1943/44 . In 1984 the club rose again to the first division, but together with fellow promoters Racing Jet Brussels , the team ended the season 1984/85 on a relegation zone. In 1987 the club crashed back into the third division. In 1989 the club merged with the Royal Excelsior Athletic Club Sint-Niklaas to form the Koninklijke Sint-Niklase Sportkring Excelsior and rose again to the second division in the summer of that year, where he played until 1996. After a short stay in the second division again, the club rose again in 1999. The following year the club merged with Sporting Lokeren.
