Sinus venosus
In anatomy , sinus venosus denotes :
- spaces in the spleen filled with blood in the red pulp of the spleen,
- as Sinus venosus Cruveilhieri the upper section of the anus of the Sinus venarum cavarum , the confluence area of the vena cava into the right atrium of the heart ,
- as sinus venosus sclerae the Schlemm's canal to the outside of the sclera in the eye.
- in fish, amphibians and reptiles some one ventricle, which is upstream of the atrium and in the sitting, the excitation-forming tissue, see heart .
