Sîrba (alternatively Sârba, Cyrillic: Сырба) is a dance music particularly well-known in the Republic of Moldova and Romania , to which a folk dance is usually performed in round dance ( Kolo ) . This music is also known among Roma , Ukrainians , Poles , Eastern European Jews and Hungarians . Sîrba is usually played in 2/4 time with klezmer music of the Romanian-Moldovan variety. Etymologically, the name is derived from the ethnicon "srb" and means something like [from] Serbs .
