Site acceptance test

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

The Site Acceptance Test , or SAT for short , is the acceptance test for a machine or system at the customer's site. Upstream of the SAT may have a factory acceptance test ( English Factory Acceptance Test , abbreviated FAT ) occurred at the supplier.

Examination of the components

The following components of the scope of delivery are checked:

  • Completeness of the machine
  • Completeness of the documentation, e.g. manual , operating instructions , spare parts list and data sheets for purchased parts, possibly CE declaration of conformity and other certificates (for example: laser, X-ray inspection)

Security test

Before the actual commissioning, the machine / system is subjected to a safety test. This includes, for example, activating the emergency stop function in full operation and attempting to open protective doors. Furthermore, the machine runs without a product with the required performance, as far as this is technologically possible.

Test run with product

Finally, there is a complete test run with the product. This production run should, if possible, take place with upstream and downstream production units under real production conditions.

Acceptance criteria

The criteria for the actual acceptance are usually agreed when the machine is ordered, as are the performance criteria, which are influenced by various factors. Here, reference is usually made to the relevant standards and, under certain circumstances, extended by customer-specific parameters.

On the one hand, performance losses can result from poor preliminary products or from the machine. The proportion of products processed in an acceptable quality must also be agreed.

protocol

The SAT is logged and contains a list of open points. A distinction is made between points preventing acceptance and non-serious points.

Final regulations

In the event of any necessary repairs, an agreement will be made on the time frame for this. If the open points have been processed, the SAT can be repeated again if necessary. Passing the SAT is often associated with the last payment, which is only released after the successful SAT or with delivery of the "as-built documentation" if changes are made to the product at the customer's facility.
