As Site Inscrit ( registered site ) is in landscape protection in France a natural or cultural monument listed with special artistic, historic setting, scientific, sagenumwobenem or picturesque character.

A Site Inscrit is subject to government supervision and requirements for its maintenance. The type of work to be carried out is regulated, some activities are prohibited, and the state pays subsidies for maintenance expenses. With the status of a Site Classé , the classified site that represents the next level of protection, the requirements are tightened and the scope of support for conservation increases.

In 1997 there were 2695 Classé sites registered in France .
