description

The structure is in the center of the old Largs cemetery. The building, which dates from 1636, was formerly a segment of the transept of a church dedicated to Saint Columban of Iona , which was demolished in 1802. Only this part of the building remained. The pointed arch, which is closed today and which once formed the passage into the crossing , can still be seen on the south wall . The elongated structure consists of stone blocks that were built into layered masonry. The entrance is on the west side. It is flanked by two windows of the same type, as they appear on the opposite east side. Above it is a rectangular decorated plaque with Christian motifs. On the north side, however, a tracery made of pointed arched windows is built in . The building closes with a slate roof .
