Largs is a small town of about 11,340 people on the Firth of Clyde in North Ayrshire , Scotland . The name Largs is derived from the Scottish Gaelic Na Leargaidh Ghallda - the slopes.

history
In 1263 the Battle of Largs between Norway under King Håkon IV and Scotland under Alexander III took place here . instead of. The battle ended in a draw, as a reminder there is the Vinkingar Center. The ships Håkons had to return because of the onset of winter. The Norwegian king died on Orkney . In the Peace of Perth in 1266, Norway sold its possessions (except Orkney) to Scotland.
