Great Cumbrae ( Scottish Gaelic Cumaradh Mòr ) or Isle of Cumbrae (there is a little sister island called Little Cumbrae Island ) is a small island in the Firth of Clyde on the west coast of Scotland , around 20 minutes by ferry from Largs .
In 2011 there were 1,376 people living on Great Cumbrae. The main town on the island is Millport . There is also the main attraction of the island - the Cathedral of The Isles , the smallest cathedral in Europe. Other attractions include a painted rock called Crocodile Rock on the north coast and the Marine Life Museum to the southeast. The highest point is the Glaid Stone in the center of the island with a height of 127 m. From there you have a view of the mainland, the islands of Bute and Arran and the Kintyre peninsula in good weather .
