Skicircus

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

A ski circus (from Latin "circum": circle) is a winter sports area that is laid out "around a valley". This usually makes it possible to circle the entire area. Well-known ski circuses include the Skicircus Saalbach-Hinterglemm / Leogang , the Sellaronda and the Tauern circuit .

Synonymously, the term denotes the sum of all sporting actors including nightlife and infrastructure , which distinguishes a winter sports resort or winter sports area from areas without winter sports, according to the idioms “the whole circus” or “there is a circus made” to describe the hustle and bustle.
