Skjold

Skjöld (in Beowulf Scyld ) is a son of Odin and the husband of Gefjon in Nordic / Germanic mythology . He is said to have ruled in the 3rd century AD and is considered to be the first Danish king and progenitor of the Danes or the progenitor of the Danish Skioldinger kings .
