SkyBox Labs is a Canadian computer games and software development studio based in Burnaby , British Columbia . It gained greater fame primarily through its collaboration with Microsoft Studios on the computer games Age of Empires II HD: The Forgotten and Age of Mythology: Extended Edition .

history

SkyBox Labs first appeared as a production partner of British game developer Relentless Software in the development of the 2012 Xbox 360 game Kinect Nat Geo TV . In 2013, the game Dragon Arena, available for iOS devices, was the first completely in-house development of the studio. In October 2014, Microsoft Studios released the rather average rated Sandbox - Action-Adventure Project Spark was at the SkyBox Labs as co-developers involved. With the Age of Mythology: The Tale of the Dragon , developed in cooperation with the Forgotten Empires studio, a chargeable expansion of the SkyBox Labs revised Age of Mythology: Extended Edition was released on January 28, 2016 , although it received mostly negative reviews. The multiplayer strategy game TASTEE: Lethal Tactics , which was published on May 10, 2016 on the Internet sales platform Steam , is the last project that the Canadians have developed and published in-house.
