history

The station started in the mid-1990s under the name "New Dance Radio". At that time, the station could only be received via the Dutch cable network . In 2000, the media company ID&T took over the station and renamed it SLAM! FM. From 2001 the station was called "ID&T Radio".

After the frequency allocation in 2003, the radio station could finally also be received via VHF . At this point in time, the broadcast was still without self-produced programs. That changed in the course of 2004. In 2005 Lex Harding and Ruud Hendriks took over the majority of the shares in the station. At the beginning of 2005 they gave the station the old name SLAM! FM again.

In 2011 the radio station was taken over by RTL Nederland . From January 1, 2012, SLAM! FM was part of Talpa Media Holding. In 2015 the station became SLAM! renamed.
