Slamet ( Indonesian Gunung Slamet ) is an active stratovolcano on the Indonesian island of Java . It is located in the province of Central Java , about 20 kilometers north of the city of Purwokerto .
With a height of 3428 m , it is the second highest mountain on the island of Java. The volcano has several cinder cones on the southeast-northeast side and another cinder cone on the west flank.
Outbreaks have been recorded since the 18th century. The last outbreak occurred in 2009.
