The Slatousker watch factory (Russian: Златоустовский часовой завод ) is a Russian watch manufacturer based in Slatoust ( Chelyabinsk region in the Urals ), which is best known for the watches sold under the Agat brand (Russian: Агат - 'the agate ').
history
In December 1941, parts of the " First Moscow Watch Factory - Kirov" were relocated to Slatoust in the Urals due to the approaching German troops . In 1943 some of the machines were relocated to Moscow. After the end of the war, clocks were made again in Moscow . However, the factory in Zlatoust was retained. Initially pocket watches were made , and from the 1950s on wristwatches (identical in construction to Poljot watches ), including diving watches such as the Vodolaz 191-ChS with a diameter of 60 mm. In 1962, production was increasingly switched to stopwatches. In this context, the work was given its new name Agat.
