Slavic portal

The Slavistics Virtual Library ( Slavistics Portal ) is a central web portal for specialist information related to Slavistics on the Internet. The portal is aimed at academics and students, teachers, translators, journalists, cultural managers and all those who are interested in Slavic studies, Slavic languages ​​and literatures, and Slavic folklore.

The portal consists of several modules.

  • Fachinformationsführer Slavistik (Slavistik-Guide) - a collection of high quality, scientifically relevant internet sources of the subject, which are indexed according to bibliographical and library standards.
  • New acquisition service Slavistics - an alerting service that offers the user the opportunity to be informed about a large part of the Slavic new acquisitions of the special collection area Slavic studies or to be informed via an email subscription service.
  • Metasearch of the Slavic Studies portal - enables comprehensive research in important library and bibliographical databases in the field of Slavic Studies.
  • Online tutorial Pilot Slavistics - a guide to independently acquiring subject-related information and communication skills. It was realized by the Bochum University Library in conjunction with the Slavic Studies seminar at Bochum University.

The content management system Typo3 and iPort from OCLC / Pica are used as portal software .

The Virtual Library of Slavic Studies (Slavic Portal) is funded by the German Research Foundation (DFG). The project is located at the Berlin State Library and maintains a close cooperation partnership with the Virtual Specialized Library for Eastern Europe ( ViFaOst ).
