Sledda from Essex

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Sledda (also Sledda Æscvvining ) († around 604 ) was probably king of the Anglo-Saxon Kingdom of Essex from around 587 to before 604 . Sledda was Æscwine's son . It is not certain whether he was actually king.

He was married to Ricola , daughter of King Eormenric of Kent , and had two sons: Sæberht , who succeeded him after his death, and Seaxa.
